Module 2 is the second and final practical test on the route to your full motorcycle licence, and it takes place on the public road. Where Module 1 tests control of the bike on a closed site, Module 2 tests how you ride in real traffic. Our Module 2 training is designed to build the skills, judgement and confidence to pass it, and to keep riding safely long after.
Your instructor will ride with you on the kind of roads you’ll meet on test day, using radio communication so you can hear clear directions and feedback as you go. You’ll practise junctions, roundabouts, overtaking, bends, and riding in town and on faster roads. We also cover the independent riding section, where you follow road signs or a sat nav, and the safety questions you’ll be asked about checking and maintaining your bike. We focus on observation, planning and positioning, since these are the areas where most faults are picked up.
Throughout the session, you’ll get calm, practical coaching that helps you ride smoothly and make good decisions under pressure. Your instructor will point out your strengths, explain any faults in plain terms, and show you how to correct them, so you can see steady progress between sessions. If you’ve had a previous attempt at the test, we’ll go over what happened and work on the specific areas that need attention.
Before you book, make sure you have a valid UK provisional licence, your theory test pass certificate, and a pass certificate for Module 1. Bring them with you along with suitable riding gear: a helmet, gloves, sturdy boots, and textile or leather protective clothing. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready for Module 2, or want help choosing the right amount of training, get in touch and we’ll talk it through with you.
